Sorry it has been a while since I have updated the page. I have
been way too busy with work and school. I will have some new help
soon from a fellow club member.
April Meeting

The Kansas Hot Wheel Collectors Club will have a show in Wichita on April 30th.

Kellogg's NASCAR
Eleven Cars total, one on each box plus an Official Kellogg's Car, Terry Labonte's #5.
These are Pull 'N Go cars, so I guess they will be plastic spring loaded cars. See

Virtual Collection
Two more Virtual Collection cars are out. Flame Stopper, the code is HYPRDRV and Wheel
Loader, the code for it is GSGZLR. Neither screen saver module are posted on the Hot
Wheel site as yet.

1/18 & 1/43 scale cars
Adkin's has posted that the 1/18 scale VW Bus has been rescheduled for July 2000.
He also lists a '50 Merc Woody w/surf board and a Harley Dyna Wide-Glide. On his 1/43 scale
page he lists a '32 Ford,
'71 GTX Roadrunner, '55 Ford F-100 Pick-up and '67 Shelby GT350. Go to Adkin's site

Chicago Auto Show
Brian & Anna have obtained a number of The Chicago Auto Show 3-Car Limited Edition Sets.

Treasure Hunt Sets
Just saw this on e-bay. Rogdude is selling his entire Treasure Hunt Set (1995-1999). He
has nicely framed them by years. His reserve is $3500 and he says the cases cost about $250 each
to make. That comes out to about $37.50 per car?? To go to the auction click

Target
FYI, Target has their Hot Wheels on sale for 59 cents through 3/20/00.
They are getting in old cases from early 1999. I guess Mattel is
clearing their warehouse out through Target. So for you new collectors that
just started, check out your local Target. (BTW, that 59 cent price is not posted on the shelves.)

Target Limited
The Hot Wheels Hot Nights, Drive-In has shown up at two Targets here in Houston.
A rumor that some Targets may not get them and that there was some
production error has surfaced. I'll post a picture of the one I found tomorrow.

New Virtual Collection
Go to the 2000 Cars page to see
the codes for the Diablo, Cement Mixer and Tractor. The module for the Cement Mixer and
Tractor are not ready yet. It seems strange that Mattel would release the cars before the
module was ready, but we are talking about Mattel.
Chicago Auto Show
As a first time event the organizers of the show will give away a Red Hot Wheel Corvette to the first 40,000
people to enter the show. There is also a Blue Corvette with real riders for sale at the show, and a Black
Corvette woth real riders in a box for a special Black Tie dinner. Check out all of these and ordering

A new
Firebird Funny car will be showing up at Chuck E. Cheese soon.

New Limited Edition
It's now official that memorabilia from the television series, "EMERGENCY!",
will be accepted into the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History,
in May, 2000. The Project 51 Committee is currently finalizing plans for a
thirteen-city national tour, with the original, completely restored Squad 51
(for more detailed information check out the
Squad 51 Restoration Page). Squad 51 will be fully equipped with the original
medical equipment and original wardrobe used on the series "EMERGENCY!".

New Virtual
There is a new Virtual Collection car out. A day-glo yellowish-green Tractor. The code is
IW84NO1 according to my good friend Hack Solo. I'll post a picture as soon as I get the car.
The virtual part is not up yet at

KB Phaetons
The KB Phaeton 2 pack is now available at your local KB Toys. Free with a purchase of $15 worth of Hot Wheels.
They are also running buy 2 and get a third for a penny sale again.

Nascar Team Buses
Mark
just posted some info about New Nascar Team (School) Buses. These are similar to ones that
show up at Nascar races with fans in them. Mark
thinks they will be in the stores real soon. The
#44 Hot Wheels Bus
looks very good and there is also a
#43 STP Bus
. Not sure of what packaging they will come in. Mark says there will be four buses
so they will probably be Nascar Treasure Hunts, like the golf carts.

The Coupon section of the paper has an ad for the Hot Wheel and Barbie
computers. For $599 you get a 333MHz, 15' Monitor, Steering Wheel, and 20

computer. And that is without having to sign up for 4 years with an on-line service.

Virtual Collection Series
As stated in the "Mattel's" Hot Stuff Newsletter"
Now you can collect on-line. Introducing the Virtual Collection.
- over 50 Hot Wheels vehicles are included in this exciting new
concept. And you'll get a free screen saver when you purchase one
of the participating vehicle. Just log onto
www.hotwheels.com, enter the secret code from the package of the car you purchased
(it's hidden under the car), pick your car, download and put it right on your screen.
Collect twice - once on your shelves and again in cyberspace.
So this is how it works. You find a Virtual Collection Series car on the pegs. You
get the code from the package, it may be on the card behind the vehicle (or you get the code off
the web as I post them in the 2000 Virtual Collection).
You go to Hot Wheels Virtual Collection page
and download the screen saver. You also download the module file for the car (you can only download
the cars for which you have the code). You run the screen saver setup.exe and it loads into your Windows
screen saver. You run the module exe and it loads into the screen saver. When your computer goes into
screen saver mode a Hot Wheels panel pops up on your screen. You can cycle through the cars that
you have downloaded and you can rotate them like you can in the CD-ROM collection. You can make them
"burn out" and you can play "music". That is about it.

There is a new web site out there, the

. This is not affiliated with Mattel or Mattel's Hot Wheels Collectors Club.
If you sign up you will be entered into some contests with some cool prizes ('67 Camaro TH plus others).
They are also looking at buying limited in bulk to reduce the costs. Check it out.
Happy Meal Hot Wheels
Visit the
Mc Donald's Web Site to see an animation of the new Hot Wheel Happy Meal Toys.
You do have to wait through the Barbies to see the Hot Wheels. It has been reported that these
are not really a "buy" of a life time, but only a "once" in a life time offer.
That is unless you are fairly young and will live over 100 years.

MD Anderson Cancer Center
Yesterday we delivered 579 cars to the MD Anderson Cancer Center's Pediatric Ward.
This brought the total of cars for 1999 to a grand total of 1853.

. Hopefully we will have very good news about
the cars soon. If you purchased cars from White's Guide and did not get reimbersed from
your credit card company, start getting your documentation together to prove your loss.
That is all I can say right now. I'll let you know when I have more information.

I have been out of town and just got back. The Talk Board is now back up and running.
