Donation to MD Anderson
Total of 1853 cars in 1999.
On December 20, 1999 Chuck Gronemeyer, Paul Maner and Rick Cristiano delivered
579 cars to the MD Anderson Cancer Centers Pediatrics Department. This brought
the total of cars donated by the Space City Hot Wheels Collectors Club to a total
of 1853 in 1999. Everyone in the club should be congratulated for this remarkable
donation. These cars are put out in the play area (where they usually disappear
to the homes of the patients), given as Christmas presents or birthday presents,
or just something for a patient to hold onto during their treatments. Some children
are isolated in their rooms and can only have "new" toys to play with due to their
compromised immune systems.
